In My Prayers

Ariel Sharon has been taken to the hospital. Why he is there isn't known yet.

Some reports say he lost consciousness and so was taken to the hospital. Now they're reporting he had a minor stroke. An MRI is being taken to check the extent of damage. They are saying he's in stable condition and conscious. Palestinians are celebrating in the streets passing out sweets. Charming.

Beats me but hopefully one of our readers will know. Anyone?

Love him or hate him..Ariel Sharon has always been a figure of strength, not only in Israel but around the world. I hope all is well.

I don't know if you saw any of the reports on Fox News, but I noticed they kept mentioning the fact that the Palestinians were celebrating, and some of them were expressing surprise since Sharon was the one who gave them Gaza. But you could see that a few of them could barely hide their disgust. I suspect Prince al-Waleed isn't going to be too happy with their coverage.

That's why I'm not so sure how much weight the Prince really can flex over there. I was watching Fox most of the morning on this but Skins are playing now. ;)

It is a very bad news.
I hope he'll pull through.
Unfortunately Sharon doesn't look too healthy and obviously suffers from high blood pressure.

I always liked Mr. Sharon. I do hope that he gets better.

No surprise there. I love my enemy and wouldn't go around celebrating at someone's pain also considering he could have killed Arafat numerous times and has given up some land for them to control.

i hope he's alright, but now is the time for a new leader. Sharon has made a very questionable decision and what people feared is starting to happen. Netanyahu- it's time to prepare, you might be running sooner than you think.

I hope he will be okay. I expect nothing less from the Palestinians. When your society has become a death cult, that's what happens.

There wasn't a whole lot of coverage of it, but the Palestinians did the same thing after 9/11. But, unfortunately, Yasser Arafat had a way of, shall we say, "influencing" what was reported out of the Palestinian Authority. And faced with the threat of physical injury, or worse, a lot of reporters chose discretion over valor.

He's still got some bulldozing years ahead of him. Time to lay off the cream cheese and lox a bit, though. Seriously, he needs to look after himself better.

Here's something you might find amusing. Although things are quite different in Israel now, as far as their cuisine is concerned, my husband never even saw a bagel until he came to this country, and it wasn't just because his family originally came from Iraq. I knew someone who was raised on a kibbutz, whose parents were born in Argentina, but whose grandparents came from Eastern Europe and not only had she never eaten lox...she didn't even know what it was. Thanks goodness those days are over.

Similar to their outpouring upon hearing of 9/11?

Well, I'm not surprised. but I am DISGUSTED.
