The problem with Hollywood is that most people crave the adulation of the salons of Europe rather than the unwashed people who shop in Walmart. For all their leftwing talk Hollywood is divorced from real America. I have not seen a film in three years. The studio heads better wake up fast

From the article to which you linked: Regardless, Spielberg's message is that the bad guys who murdered 11 Israelis are not all that bad, and that the Israeli secret services that pursued the killers, the good guys, are not all that good. They're troubled by second thoughts. There isn't much difference, according to Spielberg's telegram, between killers and avengers.

The man is talented--I won't deny it, and I've been a fan since his TV film Duel--but he's moved too far Left. All for the bucks, I guess.
Pretty ridiculous. Israeli athletes are murdered/executed and Spielberg makes Israel the bad guys. This film should be boycotted. Debbie Schlussel has had some good post about this subject if anybody wants to read further.

Yeah, one has to wonder what made him make such a movie. What's next? Antiochus as misunderstood? He was afraid the Jews just weren't getting enough protein without pork in their diet?

Oh no! What a shame - as in "how shameful". "Oh well, if a Jewish guy can despise Israel, then I guess it's OK for me to as well." That's how it goes.
