Israel... Straight To The Point

From my friend Paul: Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, says Israel is an alien implantation whose people should return to Europe or perhaps settle in Alaska. So it is an irony that Israel's president, Moshe Katzav, is in fact a Farsi-speaker born in Iran. Ditto Israel's defence minister, Shaul Mofaz, who is doubtless preoccupied nowadays with how to destroy Iran's nuclear programme. He is advised by Dan Halutz, Israel's former air-force commander and now chief of staff. Lieut-General Halutz was born in Israel, both his parents in Iran. They seem to have taught him a sense of humour. Asked how far Israel would go to stop Iran's nuclear programme, he replied "two thousand kilometres".

Halutz's response is a good one!

2KK I like that.
Probably only Israelis fully understand the seriousness of this situation (apart from us, bloggers). ;-)

Although the situation is anything but laughable, I've always found it really funny when the Arabs tell Israelis to go back to where they came from...as if, somehow, they all came from New York, London or Moscow. The fact is that prior to the influx of Russians, the largest ethnic group were Israelis who originally came from Morocco, with large numbers of others coming from the rest of the Middle East and North Africa, not to mention all of the native-born Israelis who, in some cases, have been there for generations. So, unless the Arab countries are ready to welcome them all back, people like Ahmadinejad, and some of those Palestinian imbeciles, would do well to consider what it is they're actually proposing with that "Go back to where you came from" crap.

Esther,
Last night, I posted a somewhat related article about the caliphate. You might find interesting the article and some of the comments. Specifically, why is Iran so determined to threaten Israel?

I hope their Iranian ties allow them to "get inside" the "Iranian mind" when "push comes to shove!"

Two thousand kilometers ... a "refreshing" distance ... :)

I guess the question of how Arabs ivaded the general area is a mystery. If one reads the Koran Jews were in Saudi Arabia before Islam.

"Jews were in Saudi Arabia before Islam."

By robbing the Jewish families in Medina of their wealth Muhammad became really rich.
The Jews in this area were very well stablished indeed.
And.....there weren't any disputes and problems between them and their Arabic neighbours.
Until the blod and gold thirsty "prophet" arrived.

I think the "big one" is coming, and then the great and terrible day of the Lord. Hold on to your hats!

I'm convinced that if I go back and back and back and back to where my family began I'd find myself back here in shiloh.
