The Master Speaks

One of the great strategic minds on counter-terror in Israel, Boaz Ganor, has written an article entitled, Israel continues to face three strategic terrorist threats . It is wise to listen to him.

22 Islamic countries control 99.5% of the land in the Middle East. Israel controls 1/2 of 1% and still they want more. It's ridiculous.

It makes me sick to realize what danger Israel is in. The US government is not helping by insisting on free movement between Gaza and the West Bank.

...calm is no more than temporary, and it won't last long..
Not a single sentence in this article I would disagree with.

I just hope this time we'll see some action instead of another apeasement attempt.

I know this may be somewhat off the subject, but I think one more reason to be pessimistic about the whole situation can be seen in the fact that those screw-ups in Hollywood awarded a Golden Globe to a movie that was sympathetic to Palestinian suicide bombers. Mercifully, these aren't the people making government policy, but the fact that such a mindset exists in this country among people who influence the culture, just totally sucks.

Rory, keep in mind Hollywood didn't give him the award. Golden Globes are given by the Hollywood Foreign Press and they mean nothing. The person who is nominated or wins does so simply because the person in question granted them an interview.

I have no idea what it must be like to keep a constant vigil against murderers. If that's what being chosen is all about, I'll pass on the distinction.

Birdwoman,
I agree with you, and I want to know what it is God "chose" the Jews for...the pogroms, the Inquisition, the Holocaust? In that case, I hope to hell he chooses somebody else the next time. But, in answer to your question about what it's like to be on a constant vigil against murderers, I can tell you that Israelis are some of the toughest people I've ever known. My late husband was an Israeli and his entire family still lives there. At the height of the suicide bombings, whenever I would talk to any of them, they acted as if nothing was going on. In fact, one of his cousins has three children and the youngest, a girl, recently finished high school and she's now in the army. I told him I would hate to think what it would have been like if girls got drafted in this country and my friends and I would have had to go when we were that age. His response was that the army is better in America because they send you to interesting places...like Iraq and Afghanistan. Can you imagine that? He was serious, but all I know is that if I had gotten drafted when I was 17...my parents would have been absolutely apoplectic.

Very true but it reflects where their journalistic loyalties are.
And they do shape the public opinion to some degree at least.

And so does the plastic world of Hollywood.

The real danger is the ineptitude in the PA and the refusal of Europe to hold the PA accountable for anything.

The Jews are "chosen" as the ultimate example to mankind, the uniquivocable demonstration that man needs God. Davidic Israel was the pinnacle of man, yet ultimately....not enough. God promised Messiah, who MUST be human to be efficacious, and God chose Messiah to be Jewish.
Beyond the spiritual, it must be a burden I can only imagine. I have to consider the reward for being "the apple of His eye" will be worth it??
That the Jews are THE most industrious, successful, brave and stalwart people on the planet is indicative of the esteem God holds them in, and reflects the Shekinah glory yet..... and will have to suffice till the end!
Be strong, Israel, as you always have been. Nothing will take you from His blessing.
(An unabashed "fan")
