I've been remiss in providing good Israeli discussion but there are some fine threads over at our friend Drummaster2001's site, High Voltage. The link to it is on my righthand sidebar. Check it out.
Certainly, none of us is going to condone what he did, but just compare the Israeli national mea culpa after the murders carried out by Eden Natan-Zada, as opposed to the celebrations by Palestinians when they've carried out a suicide bombing or even after we were attacked on 9/11. Also, some of the blame has to rest with the IDF because his mother appealed to them to find her son after he went AWOL. She was concerned about the fact that he was armed and had gotten involved with militant groups opposed to the disengagement. Unfortunately, the IDF didn't take her concerns seriously enough. But we should give credit to the Druse community who chose a peaceful protest as opposed to the usual bloodlettings that the Palestinians seem to prefer.
very good point about how the Jews handled the events and how the Muslim extremists handled 9/11. the druse were the ones handing in their munitions with the orange ribbon as a protest symbol, right? i saw part of the segment on fox news about it, and liked how they handled it.
