Ragen Picks

Naomi Ragen found a great article worth reading! It says it all about Europe -- out of the mouth of a German writer, no less. He nails it, I think. Do you?

Europe - Thy Name is Cowardice
(Commentary by Mathias Dapfner CEO, Axel Springer, AG)
A few days ago Henry Broder wrote in Welt am Sonntag, "Europe - your family name is appeasement." It's a phrase you can't get out of your head because it's so terribly true. Read the whole article here.

Another hat tip to Naomi Ragen is this interview with Brigitte Gabriel -- a Lebanese Christian. It might take a while to download but it's worth it -- bone chilling and inspirational at the same time. Go here. to watch it. You can learn about Ms. Gabriel's efforts here.

Appeasement=cowardice. That's great, and really refreshing for a change.
For quite a few years we joked that Alitalia was the safest airline to fly to Israel on, because of the oil deals. Now with Berlusconi in Iraq, things are a bit different.

Thanks for your comment. There seems to be a certain segment of the party that couldn't care less about how the rest of the party feels and then they get mad when they are losing elections. I have had several discussions about this as of late. I am surprised that are unwilling to see that in a democracy you can't force your way on people. You have to convince that your ideas are best for the people.

You're very welcome, Gindy. I do feel your pain -- and agree with you.

RW, Alitalia lost my boyfriend's luggage on his way to his step-sister's wedding in Venice. Not great to have to shop for everything (suit down to underwear) in Venice. If it had Milan, that would have been one thing. All they did was give him like $600 (tip of the iceberg on what they lost). Needless to say, we're not even allowed to mention Alitalia in this house.
