Action Needed For Israel-Loving Americans

If you love Israel and you're an American, you need to write/call your elected representives in Congress, if they aren't any of the following people, and thank them for their support of Israel because you can bet they're hearing from the people who are pissed with how they voted (something like 20-to-1 are calling voicing their displeasure compared to thanking). Actually, you should also thank your senators regardless, since the vote in there was unanimous in favor of supporting Israel. To find out who your reps are, visit here. Now the list of those who did not support:

Those voting NO: Abercrombie (D-HA), Conyers (D-MI), Dingell (D-MI), Kilpatrick (D-MI), McDermott (D-WA), Paul (R-TX), Rahall (D-WV), Stark (D-CA).

Those voting present: Kaptur (D-OH), Kucinich (D-OH), Lee (D-CA), Waters (D-CA)

Those not voting: Davis (D-FL) Davis (R-VA), Duncan (R-TN), Evans (D-IL), Fortenberry (R-NE), McKinney (D-GA), Northup (R-KY), Nussle (R-IA), Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) -- but she has a good reason -- she was in the hospital, Westmoreland (R-GA)

I wonder where Tom Davis of VA was. I'm sure that he'd have cast a vote in favor of supporting Israel.

If they aren't listed, then they voted in favor and should be thanked.

I just give you some strong moral support on that one. :-)

Destroy a country because some fringe element beyond their control captured 2 of your soldiers?

"Some fringe element"? Hardly. Hezbullah has significant representation in the Lebanese parliament and holds cabinet posts as well. Hezbullah has been tolerated by Lebanon as a state within a state. Lebanon is in violation of U.N. resolution 1559 to disarm Hizbullah and to remove it from the border with Israel.

The amazing story here is the restraint Israel has shown.

Love, I appreciate your brevity. Your own site could really benefit from that. Sadly, you show a bit of ignorance about the situation with your comment. As Jonathan pointed out, Hezbollah is hardly a fringe group, considering its many cabinet seats, etc. This non-fringe group was, prior to 9-11, responsible for killing more Americans than any other terrorist group.

I'm curious, so what should a country do that has rockets fall down on its citizens (you neglected to mention that part), its border breached (you neglected to mention that part), eight soldiers murdered (you neglected to mention that part) and then two soldiers kidnapped, who are probably being tortured in ways your mind can't even imagine?

Lebanon, while my heart goes out to its citizens, allowed this to happen. They didn't stop the buildup of missles from entering their country's border. They knew Israel was the target. They had to know that one day they'd have to pay for something Hezbollah would do, that they've essentially "allowed" to happen. Israel has gone above in beyond in trying to let the innocent civilians know to clear out before they hit a target, even knowing the terrorists would flee too. On the other side, Hezbollah targets civilians.

You may want to do a bit more research before spouting something you obviously know very little about.

Esther,
Let's face it Hezbollah IS the real government in Lebanon.

Couple thiongs: I'm confused. How was it unanimous if several voted no and others abstained?

Big surprise that McKinney sat out, too!

Mark, it was unanimous in the Senate...not so in the the House... those I listed are Congressmen and women.

Felis...seems like that's true.

Hey love:- You're a wanker! Before you start commenting on religions, as for example your take on christianity, I'd first suggest that you actually learn some facts about its core theology. Your assertions are stuff and nonsense, pure cant and ideological disposition informed by nothing except prejudice and ignorance.
"Destroy a country" that SCREAMS for the destruction of yours? Why ever not?? For just ONE reason, see Mike Wallace's interview with Ahmadinajad. There are countless other utterances that might disturb you, safe in your 'new age' dreaming as you are, that perhaps all is not quite right with the enemies of Israel.....or America.
Being pusillanimous and wishy-washy (a liberal bleeding heart) is expected of youth, as they grapple with the enormity of right and wrong. It is a disgrace in the supposed mature, a cause for shame.
It has always been the case, that people made of sterner stuff have to go in and make the world a convivial place for tosh and humbug spruikers like you. Now bugger off - and have a good meditation. I have sussed your God - Onan is nothing if not self pleasing!
(sorry Esther)
