Not sure why my template is all screwed up this morning. :( Had to switch templates to get it to line up correctly. Any advice on what to do when it pushes your posts all the way down past your links?
That's good to hear, Marty. Gindy, I switched to this template cause stuff lined up fine with it. But on my other one, it was completely blank until you scrolled to the last of the side-bar stuff and then all my posts started. It was horrible! I'm not sure I love this template but it works, so I love that about it. ;) I had it happen one other time but I somehow fixed it. This time -- no such luck. So this one's okay with you guys? Maybe I'll keep this one then.
Esther: It was probably caused by a post that went outside the width parameters of your previous blog template. I have that happen at TTW all the time. You can increase the width of the main, post, and sidebar sections easily enough. Just an idea...
How does a post go outside the width parameters? Not like it was any longer than any other? Soooo weird. How do I increase the width of the main, post, and sidebar sections?
I figure I'll some day screw this one up too, so figured better to know how to fix it sooner rather than later. Thanks!!
All sizes are in pixels (px). Remember that the standard (today) screen size is 1024 X 768 (these are in number of pixels. You should also try to keep them somewhat proportional. Otherwise your blog cal look lopsided.
BTW, create a text file and copy your template into it before you make ANY modifications. That way you have a backup should anything go wrong.
1) Log into the Blogger Dashboard 2) Click Change Settings (the gear icon) 3) Click on Formatting 4) The first option, Show, will allow you to display the number of days or the number of posts to show on the main page.

Hey BW,
How does a post go outside the width parameters? Not like it was any longer than any other? Soooo weird. How do I increase the width of the main, post, and sidebar sections?
I figure I'll some day screw this one up too, so figured better to know how to fix it sooner rather than later. Thanks!!
A post can go outside the width parameter if it contains a large image or some odd formatting. As for modifying the parameters, that's easy.
For the header (where the blog name and description are), look for something like this:
#header {
width:660px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:1px solid #333;
}
The main section (both posts and sidebar areas) looks like this:
#content {
width:760px;
margin:0 auto;
padding:0;
text-align:left;
}
Directly under it should be the post section:
#main {
width:510px;
float:left;
}
And below that should be the sidebar:
#sidebar {
width:220px;
float:right;
}
Lemme know if ya need any more help. :)
Thanks BW -- GREAT advice and much appreciated.
NoRules, how do I reduce the number of posts allowed on a page?
You all would never know I used to be good at web site stuff, lol.
Esther: To change the number of posts per page...
1) Log into the Blogger Dashboard
2) Click Change Settings (the gear icon)
3) Click on Formatting
4) The first option, Show, will allow you to display the number of days or the number of posts to show on the main page.
I made the changes easy as pie. You are awesome, BW.
